Dr. Đorđe Sarapa

In the legal profession since 1975, Mr. Sarapa is a member of the Bar Association of Belgrade and the Association of Defense Counsels Practicing before the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia. He followed in his father’s footsteps by joining Sarapa Law Office, established in 1960.

Mr. Sarapa was the acting legal representative in thousands of cases, including in the role of defense counsel before the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia.

He received his master’s degree in 1981 and attended The Hague Academy of International Law on a scholarship granted to him by the Government of the Netherlands.

His specialization covers, in particular, the areas of civil law, public international law and private international law as well as the areas of criminal and international criminal law.

Mr. Sarapa has also acted as a legal representative in cases of exceptionally high monetary value tried before commercial courts.

He has published a large number of papers in the fields of property law, private international law, international public law, international criminal law and international humanitarian law.
